Late on the afternoon of Monday 3 May 2021, Newcastle Town Hall hosted a fabulous event - Activating Renewable Energy Industrial Precincts in the Hunter. This was initiated by Beyond Zero Emissions, along with the many partners who are looking to the future of the Hunter Valley as a continuing source of power, manufacturing and industry. In totally sustainable and exciting ways.
Yes it is possible for such a future based on renewables not fossil fuels.
With the smartest and most innovative people in the area and beyond gathering together, the rooms were abuzz. Supported by the City of Newcastle and the University of Newcastle, it is hard not to be excited about this. Tracy Norman, an independent standing in the bi-election for the Upper Hunter, seemed to be the only politician in that race there... I know who I would like to be leading this area as we face the transformative future we need🙂
