Sustainability Advice
Objective: To extend the benefits of our experience and
resources to as wide a range of people as possible.
We are happy to talk with you about how we can help you on your
project. This might be by way of:
- consultation on projects at any stage
- advice to architects or designers to assist in improving
appropriate sustainable outcomes
- access to our carefully selected library, that includes on-line
access
In addition, we are able to give talks on a wider range of
sustainable aspects of the built environment. This might be for the
benefit of your team, your clients, your suppliers or anyone else
you might be trying to interest in the positve future of
sustainabilty.
We have adapted our ESD checklist to align with the LIving
Building Challenge approach to sustainability.
The Living Building Challenge is a cohesive standard,
pulling together the most progressive thinking from the worlds of
architecture, engineering, planning, landscape design and policy.
It challenges us to ask the question: What if every single act of
design and construction made the world a better place? What if
every intervention resulted in greater biodiversity; increased soil
health; additional outlets for beauty and personal expression; a
deeper understanding of climate, culture and place; a realignment
of our food and transportation systems; and a more profound sense
of what it means to be a citizen of a planet where resources and
opportunities are provided fairly and equitably?
There are 20 'imperatives' grouped under 7 'petals' which cover
the wide ranging ideas that need to be covered to deliver a
socially just, culturally rich and ecologically restorative future.
