Architecture + Sustainabilty has chosen to locate in a built
environment that reflects best practice sustainable design
principles - economical, social and environmental. This has
resulted in occupying space in and contributing to Resource88 -
Centre for Sustainable Practice.
Resource88 is located in an 1850's sandstone cottage and
associated buildings in Redfern, New South Wales. The Award winning
project embodies and demonstrates strong sustainable design
principles to enhance its new purpose. These include
- adaptive reuse of the existing building and materials
- inclusion of passive solar design principles where
possible
- 5.4kW of photovoltaics on the roof
- on-site collection and use of water
- purchase of sustainable new products/materials
- recycling of existing products/materials
- inclusion of efficient appliances
- facilitation of cycling and sustainable transport options
Meeting rooms and hot desks are available for casual use -
