Caroline Pidcock is the passionate force who started PIDCOCK. She has genuine interest and experience in sustainable built environments which has been developed and enhanced through her involvement in a wide range of professional, academic and other commitments. This currently includes being director of the companies PIDCOCK - Architecture + Sustainability, House of Parts, and Resource 88 - Centre for Sustainable Practice; Board member of the Sacred Heart Education Ministry; and ambassador for both the Al Gore Climate Change and 1 Million Women projects.

Her previous roles as President of the Australian Sustainable Built Environment Council, President NSW and National Councillor of the Royal Australian Institute of Architects, Industry Representative on the Australian Building Codes Board, Member of the NSW Architects Registration Board, Member of Bicycle NSW Board and adjunct professor/lecturer at a range of universities in NSW, exposed her to many government, business, academic and community arenas.

In 2008, Caroline and her aunt Mary Lynne Pidcock, bought and developed an 1850's sandstone building in Redfern. The aim was to create an environment that reflects best practice sustainable design principles and develop a community of tenants who could share their experiences of working in sustainable ways. Resource88 - Centre for Sustainable Practice is the home for PIDCOCK - Architecture + Sustainability.

Caroline has recently completed her report for the Byera Hadley Travelling Scholarship she was awarded in 2009. She investigated the "The Architecture of Zero Emissions Housing" with an aim to understand how this might impact the technical and design approaches of the practice.

In July 2011, Caroline was awarded the prestigious Marion Mahony Griffin Award by the Australian Institute of Architects in recognition of her contribution to architecture in NSW.

When she is not working hard, Caroline enjoys swimming, cycling, walking and shopping at the local farmers market to keep fit, sane and in touch with the wonderful city she lives in!
